Women’s Movements Responses to New Global Political and Economic Dynamics

The Panel will explore facets of the changing dynamics in women’s movements due to new global political and economic arrangements. The three papers will look specifically at issues of sexual violence in women’s experience of the ‘Arab/Turkish’ Spring, campaigns in India and the responses of women’s solidarity movements to the economic crises hitting different countries in Europe. The panel is sponsored by the ‘Civic Innovation Research Initiative’ (CIRI) of the Institute of Social Studies Erasmus University.
